a passionate DANCER & creative force with accolades for her unique flamenco & tango PERFORMANCE style derived from classic education in both. Alexia delivers CAPTIVATING experiences with echoes of innovation & tradition, strength & vulnerability, inspired JOURNEYS of emotion & connection.
LIFE LIVEDAlexia Theodorou has been dancing ever since she can remember: as a child, Greek folk dances; as a teenager, Latin dances, then flamenco; finally Argentine tango and flamenco again with forays into contemporary dance.
From Greece where she was born, to Seville, where she has lived for 7 years, via Paris, New York, Southern Italy and Buenos Aires, with a degree in political science from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in her pocket, Alexia trained with the greatest masters of these popular dances that have become performing arts.
Notably, for flamenco, Alexia worked with Úrsula López, Carmel Ledesma, Juan Polvillo, Ana Morales, Karen Lugo, Chloe Brûlé, Manuela Barrios and Moneta.
For tango, Alexia learned a great deal the old-fashion way, by experiencing the connection in Buenos Aires milongas with so-called ‘old milongueros’, social dancers from the past decades. But, she trained also as a stage dancer at CETBA University of Tango in Argentina and with professional dancers, Tango World Champions such as Cristian Palomo or Barbara Ferreira.
INSPIRATIONAlthough she speaks 5 languages her primary and fundamental means of communication is dance. Particularly flamenco, both traditional and blended with other musical influences, that she presents as a living art with the help of vintage costumes and natural grace. Some call it fusion.
PASSIONAlexia has devoted herself fully to flamenco for 15 years, allowing her to offer mature and visceral performances, deeply tied to tradition but open to innovation. By bringing together two of the world's most profound and passionate dances, Alexia has built a unique career that fuses the soul of Argentine tango with the expressive force of Andalusian flamenco.
PAST & PRESENT WORKSIn the last couple of years, Alexia has been focussing on Flamenco and Tango communication and Stage interactions, nurturing her first spectacle, ANAR-TA, due to premiere Summer 2026, while working and creating non-stop:
